Helping agribusinesses learn, link and grow

AAA is an agribusiness membership, training and consulting platform. We connect small and medium-sized agrifood enterprises to knowledge, finance, markets, technology, policy platforms and business partnerships.

Business clubs

As an AAA member you belong to one of the business clubs of your country chapter. Every month you meet other members to link, learn, support each other and make business deals. Members share experiences on how to grow their businesses, increase profits and contribute to their country’s development.

Mentorship and coaching

Members learn through mentorship and coaching by other entrepreneurs and through events with guest speakers. Being an AAA member also means contributing: members share their experience, knowledge and market intelligence, and coach other members in business development and entrepreneurship.

Training and business planning

Members acquire skills through in-house training as well as mentoring and coaching on topics such as preparing bankable business plans. Through our programmes, AAA experts deliver training in financial management, record keeping, marketing and branding, quality management, supply chain management and value addition.

Markets and business linkages

AAA and partner networks help members arrange business deals in-country and in regional and international markets. Members take part in company visits and exhibitions, and AAA hosts member enterprises at expos to showcase products and meet buyers and investors.

Access to finance and investment readiness

We coach entrepreneurs on financial records, investor readiness, risk management and pitching, and link them to financiers and to technical and financial business service providers. Business plans refined through AAA programmes have been presented to financiers and funding partners.

Programmes and policy engagement

AAA designs and implements programmes with development partners — including value chain analysis, capacity development and incubation — and contributes the perspective of agripreneurs and SMEs to national processes such as the validation of Kenya’s National Agrifood Systems Investment Plan.

Learning together

Communities of practice

Communities of practice are at the heart of AAA. They are think tanks by members and for members, drawing on resources across country chapters to strengthen entrepreneurship and sustainable business development. They feed into the business clubs through thematic sessions and guest speakers.

There are two types: thematic communities focusing on business issues such as finance, productivity and entrepreneurship, and sector communities that bring together entrepreneurs in a specific sector.
