AAA, in partnership with the Eastern Africa Farmers Federation (EAFF), implemented a mentorship, coaching and financial services linkage programme to strengthen youth- and women-led agribusiness enterprises.
The programme equipped entrepreneurs with practical skills in access to finance, investor readiness, financial record keeping, business planning and business remodelling — the raw material of a bankable, investor-ready plan.
Learning from established agribusinesses
The highlight was an open and mutual exchange visit that brought together 70 women and youth entrepreneurs from Kenya and Tanzania to learn directly from established agribusinesses:
- Gaea Foods — potato value addition, quality control, supply chain management and market positioning.
- Bio Farms — export-oriented agribusiness, avocado processing, international quality standards and market access.
- Farmers Fresh Feeds — efficient production, waste management, resource use and value-chain development.
From plans to financiers
Across three cohorts, five AAA experts delivered the curriculum, followed by one-on-one and group coaching. The refined business plans were evaluated, and the twenty most viable were selected for onward engagement with financiers.
