AAA took part in the ASNET Shamba Expo 2026, held in Tharaka Nithi County under the theme From Shamba to Market through Innovation. The Expo drew more than 2,000 farmers, agribusiness stakeholders, financial institutions, development partners and private-sector players, creating a platform for knowledge exchange, innovation and market linkages across the value chain.
Exhibitors showcased agricultural technologies, products and services designed to improve farm productivity, strengthen animal health and promote sustainable practices. Beyond the exhibitions, practical demonstrations and farmer education sessions introduced participants to modern production techniques and to financial products many had not previously accessed or understood.
AAA engaged directly with farmers, entrepreneurs and sector stakeholders, sharing information on its programmes, capacity-building initiatives and the opportunities available to agribusinesses. The Expo was also an important platform for networking and for partnerships that support farmer resilience and inclusive agricultural development.
Why it matters
The participation of financial institutions alongside agricultural service providers showed the importance of integrating finance with agricultural innovation. Farmers learned about financing options, business support services and technologies that help turn subsistence farming into a commercially viable enterprise.
